Schooling in Nigeria is almost like hustling on the street of Lagos. You’ll read so hard, yet it won’t reflect on the result when it’s pasted. The most challenging situation for a student is to be without money, I was a victim as an undergraduate. As someone who couldn’t multitask, I so focused all my efforts on achieving acme of success in my academic pursuit. Therefore, I was only living off the stipends I get from home but assignments most times steals a hugesome of what’s not enough.

I schooled and graduated in sheer financial struggles but in the end I was able to say “God bless God” for ending it all in flying colours. I was posted to Anambra State, there I met people with diverse background, experiences and lifestyles. Some of the guys I met while reminiscing about school life shared how they manage to wriggle out of financial constraints while in school.

1. ACCOMMODATION AGENTS
One of the ways students can make money while in school is being an intermediary between landlords and new students that craves shelter. According to the corper, he said what he does is to meet landlords that has house in the school vicinity (far or near), get their asking price for different types of room available for rent. When new students comes seeking accommodation, he will offer them the available with prices. If the landlord demands for example #60,000, he will offer it to the accommodation seeker for #65,000 or #70,000.

2. BUYER & RESELLER OF PROPERTIES
Just as new students are admitted, some old ones graduates. Most outgoing students can’t or doesn’t like to return home with so many loads, therefore they prefer to sell them off to other students who needs it. A student with the motive of making money will approach outgoing students that has properties to sell, haggle over price, buy for cheap and resell to needy students at an advanced price different from the price he got them. Properties like mattress, home theatre gadget, speakers, subwoofers, cupboard and so on.

3. DRY CLEANING SERVICES
Some students especially girls are so indolent to wash their clothes. Though some may be because of their demanding course, they are always busy and when not busy they are too exhausted to wash. One can make money off people like this, helping them wash for a token provided your own department is not as demanding and stressful.

4. SALE OF RECHARGE CARDS
Though most banks has upgraded tech-wise allowing people to recharge their phone directly from their bank accounts just by dialling codes, but notwithstanding students still buy recharge cards. Students and data are inextricable, they need it for assignments, research work and for social media. This has increase the demand for recharge cards.

5. SALE OF PAPER SHEETS
Except on examination day, students are required to provided sheets of paper to write tests or class assessments. It’s not every student that will or can have this readily available, so you can make money selling sheets to your coursemates. A higher education notebook cost #220 now,80 leaves page (40 each side). If you sell a sheet for #10, you’ll be making #180 as profit.

Other ways are; hair making, class governor/rep, barbing of hair, photography and so on.
